Obituary

George Lange, age 63, died on January 6, 2018 in San Antonio, TX surrounded by his wife and best friend, kids, siblings, and friends after a valiant battle with pancreatic cancer.

George was born in San Antonio on May 31, 1954 to ever-faithful and devout parents Bernard Lange of Harper, TX and Eunice (Mann) Lange of Devine, TX. He started his Catholic school education at St. Martin Hall Elementary School, where he enjoyed the company (and correction!) of the Sisters of Divine Providence. He graduated high school at St. Anthony Catholic Seminary in 1972 under the loving care of the Oblates of Mary Immaculate. He proudly received his B.A. of Economics from St. Mary's University in 1976. He married the love of his life, and the only person that could beat him in sports, Margaret Mary Dracoulis of Laredo, TX, in 1974, where they had their two children, Matthew Lange (married to Lisette Deffenbaugh) and Becca Siebenaler (married to Shane Siebenaler).

George worked for Schlumberger (formerly Dowell) for 38 years in Jourdanton, TX, Laredo, TX, Artesia, NM, Midland, TX, then finally San Antonio when he retired as a Sales Engineer in 2015. He enjoyed the friendships of many colleagues and customers who became his best friends, and fishing, hunting, softball, baseball, tennis, and basketball buddies. After retirement, he spent his best days planting trees, nurturing God's creation and enjoying the fresh air on the family ranch in Harper, TX.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his nephew, Joshua Pawelak, and is survived by his wife Margaret; his children, Matthew and Becca, and their spouses, of San Antonio; his grandchildren: Maximillian, Juliette, Alexis, Lilliana, Nicodemus, Seraphina, and Malachi Lange, Ryan, Emily, Ashley, and Brooklyn Siebenaler, (who all affectionately refer to him as "Grandfather, Sir") and his siblings, Bernadette Lange, MD (married to David Rieger) of Little Rock, AR, Maurice Lange (married to Regina Westfall) of Sarita, TX, Karen Brickey of Boerne, and Christopher Lange (married to Lorinda Lipinski) of Moore, TX.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 6:00 p.m., Saturday, January 13, 2018, at the Immaculate Conception Memorial Chapel at Oblate School of Theology.

Bill Morell, 323 Oblate Dr., San Antonio, TX 78216 or www.oblatemissions.org. The Oblates taught him to serve others, which he did throughout his life with his involvement in many organizations including the Knights of Columbus in Midland and San Antonio.

His advice to all is to work hard, do good, take care of your family, and lead them to holiness. He would tirelessly remind us of the Five Habits of Safe Driving: Aim high in steering, Get the big picture, Keep your eyes moving, Leave yourself an out, and Make them see you. (There will be a test!)
