Obituary

Lt. Col. Glenn W. Taylor, USAF was born February 22, 1917 in Neosho Falls, Kansas. Genuinely, one of the individuals from the greatest generation, Glenn was a life member of Stinsons Flight and the National Order of Daedalians. He attended Colorado State University and Kansas State University before entering the Army in July 1941.
Glenn graduated from flight school with the Class of 1942-F and was instructed in B-25's and flew over fifty low-level combat missions in New Guinea. He returned to instructing in B-25's for a short time, then went to the CBI where he flew over fifty more low level attack missions; he became the Squadron Commander and returned to the United States on Thanksgiving Day in 1945.

He had various assignments, returned to and graduated from the University of Kansas, Air Command and Staff College, and the Armed Forces Staff College. One of his assignments was in the Department of Tactics at the U. W. Military Academy at West Point. He flew over five thousand hours in various aircraft, primarily bombers and transports.

Military decorations include: The Distinguished Flying Cross with three oak leaf clusters, the Air Medal with three oak leaf clusters, Air Force Commendation Medal Southwest Pacific, Asiatic Pacific metal with seven bronze stars, Distinguished Unit Citation with two oak leaf clusters. AF Commendation Medal.

He retired in 1968 at Little Rock A. E. Base after spending six years with the Titan II Missile Program, moving to Florida where he lived until moving to Air Force Village II in San Antonio in 1990.

Lt. Col Taylor was preceded in death by daughter, Glenna M. Taylor and wives, Col. Evelyn Taylor and Laura E. Taylor.

Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at Blue Skies of Texas West ~ High Flight Chapel, 5100 John D. Ryan Blvd. at 1:00 p. m.
