Obituary

Gloria V. Perry of San Antonio Texas passed onto eternal rest surrounded by family on Saturday August 03, 2019; she was 83 years young.
Born in San Antonio Texas; she graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School, took local college courses, and worked hard to better herself with the loving support of her family and self-determination.

She was fiercely independent and always active. She started working as a teenager in a department store, held other various positions that led her to working at Kelly AFB, and eventually retired from Ft. Sam Houston's U.S. Army Institute of Surgical Research where she received multiple awards.
Even retirement could not stop her; she took on positions at JC Penney and QVC to keep on going and keep her mind youthful.

She devoted her life to family, volunteered for various organizations such as Meals on wheels, and enjoyed going to Sunday Mass.
In addition, she was passionate about gardening, ceramics, baking, and preparing her specialty dishes. Always fashionable, she enjoyed her shopping whether driving all over town, catalog, or on-line.

She was always ahead of her time and very tech savvy.

She is preceded in death by her parents Raphael Martinez and Guadalupe V. Martinez; her beloved sister, Socorro M. Perez; respected brother in laws Joe F. Perez and Roy Ovalle and multiple loved ones.

As we will continue to love her, she is survived by her husband of 50 years Mayo A. Perry; children David H. Perry and Eilla Sikén, Terry L. Collins, and Josephine Martinez; grandchildren Erica and Paul Molina, Evelyn and Charles Pullam, Anjelica Collins, Gabriella Collins, and Julianna Collins; great-granddaughters Stella Celeste Molina and Vivian Rose Pullam; and numerous nieces and nephews.

We will always carry you in our hearts.
