Obituary

Col. Graden James Casto (USAF, Ret.) passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, May 3, 2018 in Spring Branch, Texas. He was born on November 2, 1938 in Replete, West Virginia to parents John Casto and Vada Brown Casto.

At the age of 17, Graden joined the United States Army. He served honorably for two years before returning home. After a short time passed, he recognized the value the military gave to his life, and he re-enlisted to the US Air Force. He earned his Master's Degree in Business Personnel and served 33 years, retiring as a Colonel in 1991. After retirement, he spent his time working as a Real Estate agent.

In June of 1961, Graden met the love of his life and married Janice Lowther and shared 57 beautiful years together raising a wonderful family. Graden belonged to the Bulverde United Methodist Church.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Delbert Casto and Millard Casto; and sister, Thelma Casto.

Col. Graden is survived by his loving wife, Janice; sons, Kevin and Ken (Natalia); grandchildren, John, Nicolle Gutierrez, Brian, and Giovante; great-grandchildren, Natasha, Sophia, and Nikolas; brothers, Earl and Wendell; and sister, Margie Chisler.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the Good Shepherd Hospice Facility. A special thanks to Olene Hunt for her loving care, and all the care givers, who saw them through this time.

The family will receive friends from 6:00PM to 8:00PM., Thursday, May 24, 2018 at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
