Obituary

Our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, has gone to heaven to be with the Lord. Guadalupe Munoz Hernandez, age 81, passed away peacefully at home from natural causes on Wednesday, January 31, 2018. She was born to Apolonio and Mercedes Morales Munoz in San Antonio, TX. A 1954 graduate of Sydney Lanier High School, she continued her education at SW Texas University and graduated with a Bachelor degree in Business Administration. She retired after 25 years of dedicated service with Trinity University-Finance Dept. as a Finance Counselor.

To know her was to love her. She was a beautiful person from day one. All the way to the end of her life, she was the best. Growing up, she was a good student and daughter. She met and married her high school sweetheart, Billy Hernandez. No love was greater.

She was a great mother and super grandmother; affectionately known to her grandchildren as "Momo". She devoted her life to her family and before beginning her career, she raised her children. She loved God, her family, traveling and bingo. Guadalupe loved to travel among her ventures were the countries of Australia, New Zealand, Alaska, Mexico and China, where she stood on the Great Wall and pondered at how a far she had come. She really enjoyed her time spent in Las Vegas! She loved to play bingo and played every Sunday with her beloved companion; William, Debbie and Lupe. She was a member of Golden Seniors. She was a devout Catholic and was a parishioner at St. Dominic's Catholic Church.

Guadalupe is preceded in death by her husband, Billy M. Hernandez and her parents. She is survived by her children: Phillip A. Hernandez and wife, Guadalupe; William C. Hernandez and wife, Debbie, Lisa Tinti and husband, David.; grandchildren: Desiree Lamont, Cambri Hernandez, Shaun Hernandez, Angel Christmas Hernandez, Billy Anthony Hernandez, Sofia Louisa Garcia, and Brianna Nicole Tinti; great-grandchildren: Madison Lamont, Layla Lamont and Olivia Ann Hernandez. She is also survived by her sister, Gloria Molina and husband Leonel M., Sr. along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many wonderful friends and neighbors including Connie Compos and Olimpia Tijerina.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 18th from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM with recitation of the rosary at 7:00 PM in the chapel at Porter Loring on McCullough.

Interment in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with her husband, Alberdo. In lieu of flowers, those who desire may send memorial contributions to St. Dominic Catholic Church or to the USO (United States Organization).
