Obituary

Harold Edward Brimacombe, Jr. passed away peacefully from this life's journey at the age of 92 on Wednesday, May 9, 2018. Harold "Hal" was born in Cabot, Pennsylvania, on December 15, 1925 to Harold Edward and Elizabeth Brimacombe.

A member of the "greatest generation", Hal was a veteran of World War II, having served in the United States Navy in the Pacific campaign from March 1944 to June 1946. An aviation radioman, Second Class USNR-SV6, Hal was awarded the World War II Victory Medal and Aircrew Insignia before being honorably discharged.

Those who knew Hal described him as a real "gentle" man. Respected and loved by everyone he met, Hal was never heard to speak poorly of anyone. He accepted people for who they were, and his inherent ability to inspire was matched by his passion for service to others. A humble man of many talents, one of his greatest personal victories was his recent honor for completing 50 years of sobriety.

Baptized into Christ in 1993, Hal remained a steadfast servant and member of the The Church of Christ until the time of his death.

Hal was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Clarice; son, Brad; and his four sisters and three brothers. He is survived by Katherine, his wife of thirty-eight years; son, William "Bill" Brimacombe and wife, Shelley of Tallahassee, Florida; daughter, Sherry Stang of Newport Richey, Florida; stepdaughter, Kathy Allen and husband, Melvin of San Antonio, Texas; stepson, Thomas McClung of Houston, Texas and daughter in law, Debbie Brimacombe of Clearwater, Florida. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Monday, May 21, 2018 at Porter Loring Mortuary North from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
