Obituary

Hayde Garza-McCabe, 35, of Laredo, Texas, serenely passed into Heaven on July 19, 2017 after a short battle with cancer. She was born May 12, 1982 in Houston, and was raised in Laredo, Texas.

She attended Laredo's VMT School of Fine Arts and Communication and graduated from Martin High School. Hayde earned her bachelor's degree at UTSA before continuing to earn her Doctorate of Dental Surgery at the University of Texas School of Dentistry, San Antonio. Hayde's passion was in pediatric dentistry, and provided care to children in San Antonio and Bethel, Alaska. She was currently practicing pediatric dentistry in Eagle River, Alaska after returning from a program in pediatric anesthesiology at Stony Brook University, Stony Brook, NY.

Hayde married her high school sweetheart, Nathan McCabe, in June 2003. Together they were raising their 7-year-old son, Nathan Junior. They enjoyed countless family trips together exploring such places as Hawaii, Spain, Italy and Mexico. Hayde's most recent adventures included hiking, camping and fishing in Alaska, and zip-lining in Hawaii. Hayde was a courageous young woman who possessed the wisdom to balance her desire to help others with her dedication to being a loving wife and mother.

Hayde is survived by her husband and son, Nathan and Nathan Junior. She leaves her parents, Homero and Paulina Garza of Laredo, Texas; her sister, Maria Garza (and fiancé Andrew) of San Antonio; her sister, Paulina (Joseph) Garza-Pantoja of San Antonio; and her brother, Homero (Merin) Garza of Laredo. Hayde also leaves Eliza Ramirez and Patrick Twitty of Smithville, Texas, and her parents-in-law Alfredo and Rosa McCabe of Bethel, Alaska. Hayde's family also included her sisters-in-law, several nieces and nephews, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Hayde's smile will be remembered by her family, and by the scores of friends whose lives she touched in Texas, Alaska, New York, and around the world.
