Obituary

Hazel C. Williams, a beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, and Great Great Grandmother passed away peacefully with her family by her side Friday November 8, 2019 at the age of 90.

Hazel Juanita (Campbell) Williams was born November 3, 1929 to Esker T. and Bessie Mae Campbell in Birmingham, Alabama. As a teenager Hazel's family moved to Laurel, Mississippi where she graduated from Glade High School then worked at South Bell Telephone Company. During this time she met the love of her life, Wallace DeWitt Williams. They shared many adventures flying in a bi-plane from Laurel, Mississippi to other cities of interest before they married on August 15, 1947.

Hazel was a dedicated and supportive military wife following her husband and his career. They were first stationed at Ft. Benning, Georgia. When her husband was away in the Korean War she moved the family to Laurel, Mississippi where she worked and cared for the family. Upon his return they were stationed at Ft. Benning, Georgia then on to Ft. Belvoir, Virginia. In 1965, the family made their final move retiring in San Antonio, Texas. Hazel's greatest passion in life was her family that she showed her love for every day. Her baking, cooking, crafting, sewing and gardening brought smiles to those same faces that loved her very deeply in return.

Hazel was preceded in death by her forever love Dee, her parents and her brothers Esker, Stanley and Kenneth Campbell. She is survived by her son Wallace DeWitt Williams Jr. and his wife Linda of Copperas Cove, Texas and her daughter Donna Mae Focht and her husband Dennis of San Antonio, Texas. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Christine (Williams) Allen, Elizabeth (Focht) Sharum and Dennis M. Focht Jr., two great grandchildren, Cole Allen and Zachary Sharum and one great great grandchild, Rhyder Allen.

The family would like to thank Claudia Costecu and her wonder staff from Just Like Home Care for their Kind, loving and compassionate care of our mom this past year. The family requests that in lieu of flowers to make a donation to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or a charity of your choice.
