Obituary

Hilda (Delepiani) Finck passed away on Monday, July 23, 2018, just two weeks after the death of her beloved husband, Bill Finck, Sr. Hilda was also preceded in death by her parents Enrique Delepiani and Olga Belloso Delepiani and by her sister and brother-in-law Norma Delepiani Villamizar (Mario). She is survived by her children and grandchildren Kathleen Finck, Caroline Kuper (Harry Jersig "Ricky"), Henry William ("Bill") Finck Jr. (Donna), Julia Lieck (Christopher), David Finck (Cathy), Laura Abdo; and grandchildren, Henry Fisher Watel, Greta Kuper Stehr, Clara Kuper, Georgia Kuper, Harry J. Kuper, Jr., Collins Kuper, Henry W. Finck III, Steven Finck, Emily Finck Kanaby, Madeline Finck, Dylan Lieck, Hannah Lieck, Jamie Finck, Audrey Finck, Kaela Kirk, Joseph Finck, Maia Kirk, William Finck, Brian Treadway, and Nicholas, Elliott, and Danielle Abdo, and by her siblings Nelly Delepiani Gonzalez (Ralph, deceased), Cecilia Delepiani Young (Ray), Marina Delepiani Monsanto (Hugo), Maritza Delepiani Diaz (Ramon), and Oscar Delepiani.

Hilda was born in the Maracaibo, Venezuela, where she would ultimately meet Bill and return with him to wed in his hometown of San Antonio, Texas. It was the start of their 60-year love story that only ended with their passing so proximate in time, but not entirely unexpected by those who knew just how devoted they were to one another.

Even though Hilda arrived in Texas without any English fluency or knowing how to drive or even cook, she was a quick study and soon mastered these and many skills prior to becoming a busy mother to six beautiful children and later a grandmother of 22.

Hilda was a homemaker in the most committed sense, truly making her family's home and lives her top priority, although still finding time to pursue her love of crossword puzzles! Every day, she lovingly prepared wonderful meals, often incorporating ingredients derived from the family's ranch. Her famed, extravagant holiday feasts were always greatly anticipated and drew ever-increasing numbers as children married and grandchildren were born.

Everyone who met Hilda loved her for her sweet and generous nature demonstrated regularly at St. Peter Prince of the Apostles Catholic Church, where she was a member, and through the St. Monica's Guild and St. Vincent de Paul ministries. She found much joy in giving back to the church and the community and was devoted to the Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and her women's bible study group.

After her children were grown, Hilda traveled the world with Bill, visiting the Americas and Europe and sharing new sights and experiences. It is some solace to her loved ones that Hilda is still with Bill, together for eternity and now sharing the heavenly life they always wanted.

The family would like to thank Phil Crystal and Mary Fulari for their compassionate attentions, Chuy, Marina, Grazia and Frances for their devoted efforts, and Caring Companions, especially Maria, Ruth, Guadalupe and Yolanda, for their unparalleled kindness.

Services we were held alongside her beloved Bills' on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at St. Peter Prince of the Apostles Catholic Church.
