Obituary

Holly Kathryn Page, age 14, gained angel wings at 1:03 am on Sunday, September 16, 2018 at University Hospital in San Antonio, TX. She left our world surrounded by all of her siblings, immediate family, and close family friends as they joined in song celebrating her special life. In her short time with us, Holly touched the lives of so very many and continues to give life as an organ donor through the Texas Organ Sharing Alliance.

Holly was an amazing girl who overcame numerous obstacles in her life with dedication, grace, and optimism. She was born on May 9, 2004 at Wright Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio but soon became a Texan. A graduate of Huebner Elementary and Eisenhower Middle Schools, she had just started her education at Churchill High School. Although her life was complicated by a number of medical and developmental challenges, she positively touched thousands of fellow students, friends, medical students, nurses, physicians, teachers, physical/occupational therapists, and family members. She taught those around her to embrace challenges with pride and strength and to express our heart on our sleeves with simplest of her smiles, touches, or warm hugs. Her joy for music was known by all and even the simplest song or tempo would bring a smile to her face. Among her favorites were Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, Herman the Worm, Wheels on the Bus, Itsy Bitsy Spider, You are My Sunshine, and Baby Shark. She was thrilled to dance, swing in the park, or listen to a good Sandra Boynton book. She loved to listen to her brother, Anthony, play his trumpet; to swim with her brother, Ethan; and to bounce on the trampoline with her sister, Ellie. Perhaps her greatest attribute was as "cheerleader-in-chief" for the entire family, neighborhood, and community– always bopping around, smiling, and laughing at the simplest things. Her impact in this world was to make everyone around her happy. Holly's special place on earth will be missed.

Holly is preceded in death by her paternal grandmother, Holly Walker; and paternal step-grandmother, Alma Ramsey.

She is survived by her mother, Sarah Page-Ramsey; father, Anthony "Tony" Page of Albany, GA; step-father, Patrick Ramsey; brothers, Anthony Page, Jr and Ethan Ramsey; and sister, Ellie Ramsey. She also leaves her maternal grandparents, Edward and Kathryn Gumphrey of Shelby, NC; paternal grandfather, Michael "Micky" Walker of Albany, GA; step-grandfather, Gary Ramsey of Rhinelander, WI; long-time nannies Stephanie Duque and Annie Beighley; as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Her viewing and celebration of life service will be at 11 am Saturday, September 22, 2018 at the Porter Loring North Funeral Home located at 2102 North Loop 1604 East, San Antonio, TX 78232. Guests are welcome to wear bright colors in honor of Holly's cheerful spirit.

The funeral will be followed by a reception at the family home at 2:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you will support Holly's legacy through contribution to a Memorial Scholarship being established in Holly's name to support students aspiring to enter the field of special education.
