Obituary

Homer Villarreal, age 91, passed away in the comfort of his home on Friday, October 26, 2018, in San Antonio, TX. Homer was born on June 5, 1927 in San Antonio to parents Elijio and Guadalupe Martinez Villarreal. He was preceded in death by his parents, two grandchildren Veronica Flores and Scott Villarreal, and wife of 57 years, the mother of his children, Teresa Z. Villarreal. Homer Villarreal is survived by his wife of 10 years, Esther Villarreal; his children, Homer (Sandra), Yolanda Flores (Dan) and Alfred (Cathy); 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Homer served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and worked at Kelly Air Force Base, where he retired as a Division Chief. He was active at St. Ann's parish while raising his family, even coaching his sons' baseball teams and leading their Boy Scout troops there. In his spare time, he practiced his carpentry skills, making many gifts for his family. Homer was a founder and active member at Prince of Peace, where he was an Extra Ordinary Eucharistic Minister, Guadalupano, a 3rd degree Knight of Columbus, Team Leader for ACTS, and served with St. Vincent de Paul serving with Haven for Hope. He served with a Servants heart.
His family would like to thank Compassus Hospice care for all of their help during this time.

Visitation will be held from 5:00pm to 7:00pm on Monday, November 5, 2018, at Porter Loring Mortuary.
