Obituary

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather passed away peacefully at the age of 92 in the company of his loving wife Patricia.

Howard was born in Brenham, Texas to William H. and Ida Mae Kochwelp. While attending Blinn Jr. College, he was accepted into the Air Force during WWII, and called to active duty at the age of 18. After the war, he graduated from the University of Texas prior to marrying the love of his life, Patricia in 1951. Howard worked for IBM as salesman, marketing manager, and branch manager for over 30 years. After retirement, he continued to stay active in real estate and ranching.

Howard was a man of the greatest generation. His sense of fair play, honesty and positive outlook represented a life well lived, and a role model for all. He was strong in body, spirit and commitment, especially when it came to his family. He set an example of love, kindness, and an attitude that anything was achievable if you worked hard enough. Howard treated everyone with respect, no matter their stature in life.

Howard was preceded in death by his parents, William and Ida Mae Kochwelp, and his sister Joyce Luedeman. He is survived by his loving wife Patricia of 67 blissful years, and his three sons: Howard and wife Tinker of San Antonio, Bill and wife Jackie of Austin, Jimmy and wife Angela of Liberty Tx.; His sister Irene Rankin of Brenham Tx; grandchildren: Adrian, Ashton, Colby, Chelsea, Chase, Heather, Megan and Whitney; great-grandchildren: Hayden, Ryder, Stormi, Piper and Easton.

A special thanks to his loving caregivers, Roosevelt and Hondo for their compassionate care over the last year which brought comfort to the Kochwelp family.
