... he loved his family...

Obituary

Loving husband, father and grandfather, Hugh Alton Wilbanks, age 75, passed away on Wednesday, December 20th with his family at his side. Born to wonderful parents, Howard and Myrtle Wilbanks in Walnut, MS, they gave him his foundation of love and support in life.

Some people may call our Dad, "Old School"; he met our mother, Janet, in Spokane, Washington, dated and have enjoyed a blissful marriage for 56 wonderful years. He proudly enlisted in the US Air Force and was honorably discharged after 20 years of dedicated service. He initially was assigned to telecom communications and elevated to Operations T.I. training instructor. Always placing family first in life, he was involved in every aspect of his wife and children's well-being ~ in short, he loved his family.

Hugh is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Roy Bruce Wilbanks and son-in-law, Armando Mascorro; and grandson Juan Martinez. He is survived by his beloved wife, Janet Wilbanks; children: Debra Mascorro; Theresa Wilbanks; Douglas Wilbanks (Norma); grandchildren: Amanda, Kayleigh, Nathaniel; great-grandchildren: Jayda, Jayden, Jenna, Joshua Martinez, sisters: Jane Smith, Juanita Henry (Jerry) Judy Rixie (Earl) and numerous nieces and nephews along with numerous wonderful friends and neighbors.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Generations Hospice (Dashuna, CNA; Victoria, RN and Joseph in Woundcare).

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 29th from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Porter Loring on McCullough.

On Saturday, December 30th a Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM in the chapel at Porter Loring followed by interment in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
