Obituary

James Clayton Lamb, age 94, passed away on Sunday, November 4, 2018 in San Antonio, Texas. He was born in Hubbell, Nebraska to George F. and Loretto Lamb. James was in the United States Navy for 3 years and served in World War II on the USS Mountrail in Radio Communications. After military service, he graduated from St. Mary's University with a Bachelor of Science in Physics and Math. He worked at Kelly Air Force Base in the USAF Cryptologic Support Center for 33 years. James enjoyed dancing, auto mechanics, fishing, camping, and gardening. He served as Boy Scout leader at St. Benedict School with sons, James Michael and John Patrick, who with his eager support they earned the rank of Eagle Scout. James was a member of Knights of Columbus. He was preceded in death by his parents; sons, John Patrick Lamb and James Michael Lamb; daughter-in-law Renee J. Lamb. James is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Mary Evelyn Hoffman Lamb; daughters, Kathleen Cain and husband Rusty Cain, and Karen Walton; grandchildren, Cody Miklis, Christopher Walton, and Lindsey Walton; and numerous extended family members.
