He retired from the Air force at Lackland Air Force base. He became an Educator and a Counselor but will be remembered by many of his students as a beloved teacher of History and Government. Survivors include his devoted wife, Sophie, his daughters Dorothee and Juliette; his grand-daughters, Laetitia and Clara. Two sisters, Sallie Mae Whitehead and Darlene Fairley of North Carolina. A host of other relatives and lifelong, precious friends mourn his passing. The family wishes to thank Jim's care team at Landon Ridge Alamo Ranch Assisted Living in San Antonio.
