Obituary

Jim went to be with the Lord July 8 ,2020. Jesus was his Savior and he loved to sing and listen to Gospel music and read the Bible. He loved Pastor John Hagee's preaching and was a member of Cornerstone Church. His wife Dorothea (Dottie) was the love of his life for 45 years. He died peacefully at home under her loving care. His greatest accomplishment was being blessed with a devoted family; the father of two wonderful daughters, Jennifer Dawn and Jessica Joy, and father in law to Tony Rodriguez and Jason Dolphin. But, the delight of his life are two precious Granddaughters Laney Dawn 2 ½ and Lillian Joy 2 months. He is survived by an older brother, John Flanagan of Leesburg , Florida. Jim proudly served his country in the Navy during the Vietnam War. Continuing to help others, Jim has donated his body to the UT Science Medical Center.

Donations may be made to the Boyce Blackwelder Scholarship Fund, School of Theology, Anderson University, Anderson, Indiana.
II Corinthians 12:9 "My grace is sufficient for you, my strength is made perfect in weakness."
II Corinthians 4:16-18 "Therefore, do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary affliction is preparing us for an eternal glory that outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is unseen is eternal."

Jesus had a place prepared for Jim (John 14:1-3). After his 24 year battle with Parkinson 's disease, Jim now has perfect health.
Hallelujah !!!
