James M Miranda went home to be with his Heavenly Father January 15, 2018. Jim was born December 3, 1931 in Nuttallburg, WV to Fornia and Russell Miranda. Russell died in a coal mining accident when Jim was a toddler. Fornia remarried and Jim was raised by his mother Fornia and Jerry Ellman. Jim graduated from Stonewall Jackson high school, Charleston, WV; received his AB degree from Morris Harvey/University of Charleston; his MBA from the University of North Florida and a MA (Theology) from Oblate School of Theology.

Jim's last employment was as Director of Human Resources for our Lady of the Lake University, San Antonio, TX. Prior to that he was Vice President of Solo Serve of San Antonio, and previously was Vice President of Value Mart Dollar Stores in Mississippi.

Jim had been active in civic affairs, having served as the President of the Atlanta, GA chapter of the American Business Clubs (AMBUCS) for two years; and District Governor of AMBUCS for Georgia. Although AMBUCS was founded in 1922, Jim was the first District Governor to receive the Superior Governor's Award. Jim also received first place nationally for most new members, he was founder of Youth Day in Atlanta, GA and for that received the National Most Outstanding Project award. Jim also chartered a new AMBUC's club and for which he received the National Sparkplug Leadership award.

Jim completed three years at Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary was an ordained deacon and ordained minister in the Baptist Church. He had the privilege of marrying his grandson Jonathan and several other friends. His bible teaching touched many people's lives and will be deeply missed.

Jim was talented, intelligent, hard-working, and Big-hearted. He spent many hours playing chess with friends and family enjoying the time with them and the conversation. He loved his family and friends and always enjoying spending time with them.

Jim was predeceased by his father, Russell Miranda step-father and mother Jerry and Fornia Ellman and his brother, Herbert Miranda. He leaves behind his wife Eileen, his daughter Sharon Taylor, grandchildren Mary, Steven, Jonathan, and Angela Taylor, and his wife's children, Patti Boettger, Janet Granshaw, and Charles Carson, and his wife's grandchildren Jennifer, Ashley, Matthew, Krissy, Timothy and Nicholas, as well as numerous great grandchildren.

Viewing will be held Sunday, January 21, 2018 from 2 PM to 4 PM at the Porter Loring Funeral Mortuary North, 2102 North Loop 1604 E., San Antonio, 78232;
