Obituary

Janine went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 28, 2017 at the age of 66 years. She was born in Bremen, Germany on May 26, 1951. She was adopted at the age of 2 years and her new family gave her a life of traveling and seeing the world due to her father's occupation in the oil industry. Her education was gathered from many places around the world; however, she proudly graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in San Antonio, Texas class of 1969. She went on to receive her associate's degree and later became a certified paralegal. She spent her entire legal career working for the Law Offices of Hervol, Hinders and Goodbread. She retired in 2013 from the Law Offices of Stacy Goodbread to enjoy time with her family and traveling.

Janine or "Jan" as many knew her, enjoyed many hobbies during her lifetime. They ranged from things such as playing bunco, dancing, bowling, sewing, cabbage patch doll making and crocheting, in her younger years. Some of her more recent hobbies included traveling, going to glass making classes, attending her quilting group and making all kinds of crafts with her children and grandchildren. Through it all, her favorite things were time spent with family, friends and dancing.

Her faith in the Lord Jesus Christ was apparent in every aspect of her life. She had a desire to share the love of Jesus with everyone she could. At a very young age she would drag her brother to church every Sunday. When she had children of her own, she took her job to make sure they would have eternal life very seriously. She was the rock in her family that made sure no matter where the kids were on Saturday night they were always at Sunday School and church on Sunday morning. She was a long-time member of Concordia Lutheran Church and more recently attended Redeemer's Hope.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Aubrey and Hazel Burgess; her Aunt Margie; her cousin Evelyn and husband Tommy; Uncle Henry and Aunt Polly. Janine is survived by her loving husband, David Seay; daughters, Cynthia Hay and husband Sean, Tracie Micklitz and husband Troy, Vassana Srinual and Jennifer Seay; grandchildren, Magdalena "Maggie", Clayton, Blake and Travis; brothers, Terry Burgess and wife Phyllis, Brian Burgess and wife Carol; niece, Melissa Pack and family; nephews, Wayne Russell and family, Michael Russell; cousin, Michael Thompson and family; step-sons, Scott Seay and David Seay; step-grandchildren, Destiny, Skyler and Vinnie and other loving family.
