Obituary

Jerry Lynn Schero went to be with her Savior on November 18, 2017, at the age of 88 years. She was born Jerry Lynn Ray on February 18, 1929, in Wichita Falls, Texas.

She graduated from Harlandale High School in 1946. She married Robert Joe Schero, Sr., on May 26, 1951.

One of her most admired traits was her adventurous spirit, she experienced life to the fullest and filled her family with countless numbers of treasured memories and many countless outfits. She was an accomplished seamstress sewing wedding dresses, page dresses and her granddaughter's Lutheran Coronation dress and train. There were many special outfits for her children and grandchildren. She was a wonderful secretary, legal assistant, party planner for her husband and family. Her sense of humor, joyful laugh and positive outlook on life was magnetic. Her faith had always been a great source of strength for her and was a witness to family, friends and many acquaintances that she touched.

Jerry was a 59-year member of Hope Lutheran Church. She was a charter member of the Ladies Oriental Shrine Altrui Court #89 San Antonio and was a member of the Daughters of the Nile Nekodah #44 San Antonio.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Eric and Mary Ray; her husband, Robert Joe Schero, Sr.; her sister, Mary Frances; her brother Jack Ray; and her granddaughter, Hilary Layne Schero.

Jerry is survived by her four children: sons, Robert Joe Schero, Jr., "Robbie", of San Antonio; Charles Joe Schero, III "Chuck" and wife, Jenny, of Carrollton, TX.; daughters, Cynthia Ann "Cindy" Gabel and husband Mike, of San Antonio; and Peggy Lynn Clark of Austin, TX.

One of her greatest joys was spending time with her grandchildren: Casey Gabel of Houston; and Sara Gabel of San Antonio; Whitney Wiggs and husband Erick of Memphis, TN.; Jocob Clark of Kyle, TX; Kendall Clark of San Antonio; Taylor Flutz and husband, Drew of Starkville, MS; Nicole White and husband Corey of Argyle, TX; and Charles Joe Schero, IV, "CJ" and wife Gwen of Antioch, CA; great grandchildren: McKenzie Schero; James and Lola Wiggs.

The family will receive friends, Wednesday, November 29, 2017, 6:00-8:00 P.M. at Porter Loring North

Interment in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery on November 30, 2017, 9:00 A.M.
