Obituary

Jimmie Hathcox, 84, went to his Eternal Home with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 in San Antonio, Texas. He was born on October 3, 1933 in Ocala, Florida.

Jimmie was a beloved husband, and a loving father. He was devoted in his faith, and served as a deacon, treasurer, and also served in the television ministry.

He faithfully served his country in the military for 24 years. During his time in the Air Force he worked as a combat photographer in the Vietnam War, at the Pentagon for several years, and in Germany. He retired in San Antonio, Texas.

After retirement, he owned a flying school at Stinson Field, which is where he met his wife. During that time, he worked for WOAI Radio flying over the city as a traffic reporter. Jimmie also spent 16 years as a civil servant at Fort Sam Houston at the medical school.

He was preceded in death by, his mother, Truby Small; and grandmother, Olif Hathcox. Jimmie is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Joyce; son, Jonathan; sister, Col. Mary Small (USAF, Ret.); nephew, Bret Brogoitti (Terri); brother-in-law, Doug Jackson (Karen); nieces, Julie Copeland (Jeff), Jill Holmes (Dave); and other extended family members.

PARKHILLS BAPTIST CHURCH

Dr. Robert Welch will officiate. Interment with follow in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at a later date.
