JoAnn G. Diaz, age 62, passed away Sunday, August, 5, 2018 as a result of a long battle with cancer. Her family was by her side when she was called home and welcomed by Our heavenly Father and her loving parents Gloria G. and Edward L. Diaz Sr.

JoAnn was a graduate from Thomas Edison H.S. and The University of Texas at San Antonio, where she received her Bachelors degree in early childhood education. Her special interests and hobbies were reading, traveling (especially to Vegas and Winstar), painting, going to the movies and road trips to the Galveston beach with family. All who knew her, knew that she walked by Faith, led by example and wasn't defined by the cancer she so bravely battled, but was defined by the strength, values, courage and boundless love she left behind through her family, friends and students.
