Obituary

Josephine "Jo" M. Keller
January 22, 1954-May 3, 2017

Jo Keller age 63, of San Antonio, died after a 2 years' battle with cancer. She earned her LVN from St. Phillips College continuing to work full time. She put herself through San Antonio College to earn her RN degree. She started at Santa Rosa Hospital and then Metropolitan Hospital transferring into the specialty of Renal Nursing. She helped to open the Renal Unit, staying with her favorite doctors, Dr. Ronald Hamner, Dr. Alan Merin, and Dr. Eric Schaffer and more. She was assistant director of the 6th floor her last year there.

A back injury cut short her nursing career of over 20 years. A work she truly loved. She loved to dance, was an avid reader, went to plays, ballet and especially movies whether alone or with her grandchildren. She loved to travel with her late husband, David, returning to San Antonio after his death. To fill a void she started raising boxers, reuniting now with Dee Dee, Buddy and Kelly and leaving behind Toby.
She is preceded in death by her husband, David B. Keller and grandmother, Magdalena Martinez.

Jo is survived by her parents, David Moreno, Sr. and Constance Moreno; sons, John Edward Sanchez and Michael Garcia (Mikisha); grandchildren, John David Sanchez, Michael Garcia, Maiya Garcia and Matthew Garcia; sister, Maggie Moreno and brother, David Moreno, Jr.
Jr.
