Obituary

Karen Harrison lived a full and fruitful life. She was loved by many who recognized her honesty, quick wit and many skills. She is survived by her husband, Michael Harrison; daughter, Jamie Harrison; son, Jared Harrison; father, Glenn Moret; mother, Maribeth Moret (Matherne); sister, Janet King (Moret).

Karen accepted Jesus Christ into her heart at an early age and spent the rest of her life serving Him. She was often involved in Vacation Bible School teaching children biblical truths. Karen loved preparing crafts for the kids at church as well and applied her creative gifts to help make Jesus come alive for them.

Karen was a trained lab technician and worked in that job for several years, then advanced to become a medical office manager until her children were born. She decided to become a "stay at home" mom thereafter to ensure her kids received her full attention.

Karen loved shopping for antiques and had a joy for interior decorating. She treasured her children and always planned and executed creative birthday parties for them throughout their lives. Her frugal approach (no doubt due to her Dutch family roots) ensured that the parties, though creative, did not get out of financial control. Karen excelled at cooking (no doubt due to her Cajun roots) and always made sure her family received an excellent home-cooked meal.

Karen enjoyed spending time at Lake LBJ and taking boat rides on the lake. She also relished "geo-caching" with friends and always invited her family to join her on her "quests" when we were in a new place or on vacations.

Karen lost her second battle with cancer on November 21, 2018 after a long and honorable fight. She kept her faith through the end and is now in the arms of Jesus. Karen was a great witness to all who visited her through her fight.
