Obituary for Kathryn G. Walsh

August 16, 1954 - November 29, 2019
San Antonio, Texas | Age 65

Kathryn G. Walsh, known to all as Kathy, age 65, passed away peacefully in her home on Friday, November 29, 2019, after her eleven-year battle with breast cancer. She was surrounded by the adoring love of her family and friends, entirely fitting for such a beautiful soul's departure.

Kathy is survived by her mother, Elizabeth Wells; her husband of 43 years, Stan; her children, Brian, Katie (nee Walsh) Blessing and Andrew; her brothers, Stephen Wells, Stewart Wells, Richard D'Allassandro; her sister, Jennifer Deddo; and her grandchildren, Abby and Ben. Her sister, Sarah Wells and her father, Stephen Wells, predecease her.

Kathy was born to military parents in Stuttgart, Germany on August 16, 1954. She attended Susan Wagner High School on Staten Island, NY and went on to graduate from Wagner College with a degree in Nuclear Medicine. While at school, she met the love of her life, Stan, and they were married on May 27, 1977. Together they had three children and moved to San Antonio in August of 1994.

Kathy was a cherished wife, mother, daughter, sister, nana and friend. Her selflessness, strength and devotion shone through wherever she set foot. Her volunteering throughout the years in the schools, Meals on Wheels, Hospice, tutoring and mentoring changed more lives than she could ever know. Not to mention how many lives she positively touched through both her teaching and real estate careers. Her smile and positivity could uplift anyone on even the worst of days. She was the go to person for so many family, friends and co-workers, when it came to solving problems, getting things done, encouragement or advice. The outpouring of love on her behalf has been amazing and truly would make her heart sing. Please come celebrate Kathy on Saturday, December 7th at the TMI Chapel (please see below for information).
