On numerous occasions, Lani, accompanied by his Mother and Nurses, attended a variety of sporting events. He attended the Dallas Cowboys' Training Camp, Texas Rangers baseball games, and Spurs Basketball Games. Lani also visited the Alamo, Institute of Texan Cultures, The Tower of Americas observation deck, the Texas State Capitol, Morgan's Wonderland and was a member of The Witte Museum.

It is no mystery that many people were affected by Lani's presence in a positive and spiritual way. Lani will be remembered as a loving son, grandson, brother, nephew and cousin to his family, but also remembered as a cherished soul to the community. He touched many hearts, especially at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church and Holy Trinity Catholic Church.

Even in death, Lani continues to show his love for humanity. His corneas were donated to the San Antonio Eye Bank, so someone can have the gift of sight through Lani's eyes. This gives the meaning of his name Lani, "Eyes of Heaven," so much truth.

Lani is preceded in death by his Grandmother, Leilani Flick; Aunts, Moira Zaiontz and Lanie Sjolander; Uncle, Felton Stallings; and Cousins, Vladimier Zaiontz, Shawn Carlton and Robert Frantz.
