Commander Lawrence Eugene Marshall, USN, Retired, age 56, passed away on Tuesday, March 13, 2018. Growing up in Ohio, Indiana, and Pennsylvania, Lawrence dreamed about serving his country in the United States Navy. In 1979, he was accepted to the United States Naval Academy. After graduating in 1984, Lawrence served in the Navy for twenty years, rising to the position of Executive Officer of the USS Texas Battleship. Among his many deployments, Lawrence served in Kuwait, coordinating anti-submarine warfare during operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm.

After leaving the military, Lawrence followed his passion for computers and earned a master's degree in Information Technology from George Washington University. Possessing a brilliant mind and a sharp wit, Lawrence loved to read, learn new things, and debate current events. Reserved by nature, Lawrence had a big heart and a love for his family.

The greatest joy in Lawrence's life was his daughter Gizelle. After retiring from the military, Lawrence had more time to devote to Gizelle, eventually moving to California to be closer to her. His greatest hope was for Gizelle to have a happy life.
