Obituary

Linda Ann Rice (Suchey), 76, of Niceville, FL passed away on February 11, 2017 in San Antonio, Texas. Linda was born in Sumiton, AL to Joe and Avis (Sandlin) Suchey. She lived there with her brothers, Terry Suchey and Randy Suchey until her marriage to Robert (Bob) C. Rice.

Linda and Bob embarked together on their marriage and a military career that spanned multiple states and countries. During their time, together they shaped many memories and friendships that lasted a lifetime. Linda's life was full as an Army officer's wife and it produced countless stories of travels and adventures that she loved to share. All of these stories represented her commitment to her family, friends and sense of fairness to everyone in her life. Above all, Linda saw everyone as an equal and lived her life trying to treat everyone with fairness and respect, always willing to help. She had a sense of style and artistry that shined through special objects collected on their many travels. She and Bob were passionate about antiques and spent countless hours hunting for an addition to their home to be enjoyed.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Col. Robert C. Rice; parents, Joe and Avis Suchey and her brother, Terry Suchey.

Linda is survived by her sons, Joe (Dallas) Rice of Norman, OK, Phillip (Mary) Rice of San Antonio, TX, David (Guillermina) Rice of Kerrville, TX; daughter, Kimberly Aaron (Jason) of Sumiton, AL and brother, Randy Suchey of Sumiton, AL. In addition, she was greatly loved and will be missed by her grandchildren: Coty Karr (Arik), Lydia Rice, Nathan Rice (Lauren), Carter Rice, Bay Dailey, Matthew Rice, Ashley Rice, Kyleigh Aaron and Kathryn Aaron.

She will be laid to rest alongside her husband at Arlington National Cemetery at a future date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.

For this God is our God forever and ever, he will be our guide even to the end. Psalm 48:14.
