Obituary

Louis "Bud" A. Miller, age 71, passed away on Saturday, May 25th in Floresville. He was born on June, 25th 1947 to his parents, Leon L. Miller and Katherine M. Kraeski in La Grange, Texas. He was a 1967 graduate from Thomas A. Edison High School in San Antonio, Tx. He enlisted in the US Army and served several years in Vietnam. After 9 years in the Army, he transferred to the Army National Guard, and served a total of 23 years. His passion in the military was the motor pool, keeping the big trucks on the road and anything else that needed fixing that had a motor and four wheels. He took a college course on automobile engines, but had trouble concentrating as his hearing was then impaired.

He was a "hands on man" and could fix anything. He also liked to repair furniture: painting and sanding to make things look new again. Throughout his life he was a member of several different American Legion Posts in the San Antonio area, with the most recent being Post 38 in Floresville, Tx. His latest hobby was playing the lottery, but more so the Scratch Offs. And yes he won some, and lost some. He was proud of his Lottery T-shirts, bags, etc that he was awarded. His health failed him the last few months, but he continued on.

He was preceded in death by, parents Leon and Katherine Miller; son, Louis (BJ) A. Miller, Jr.; sister, Barbara Carter; sister, Shara Moore; brother, Jack A. Miller; step-father, VC Jones; brother-in-laws, Benno Kahanek and Buddy Carter; "Bud" as the family called him is survived by sisters, Betty Kahanek and Kathy (Kenneth) Miesse; brothers, Martin L.(Linda) Miller, Michael H. (Connie) Miller, Donald R. (Debbie) Miller; step-brother, VC (Buster) Jones Jr.; step-mom, Shirley Scharmann Jones; and many nieces and nephews from the Hawaiian Islands to the Atlantic Coast.
