Obituary

Lt. Col. (Ret.) Louis R. Hammack, passed away to join the Lord on December 21, 2017. He is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara L. Hammack; daughter, Melisse L. Hammack; son, Michael A. Hammack and their mother, Sally M. Hammack. He is also, survived by his brother, James C. Hammack; daughter-in-law, Robin Hammack and granddaughter, Annaka Hammack.

Lou was born to his parents, Col. Louis A. Hammack and Marilu L. Hammack in Scofield, Honolulu, Hawaii, in 1934. He was raised as an "Army Brat" and went to serve 22 years in the U.S. Army before retiring in 1977. He served in the Air Defense Artillery and Field Artillery and spent 8 years in Germany and tours in South Korea and South Vietnam. Upon retirement, Lou spent many years in Real Estate, Office Equipment Sales and Service and as a partner in a Local Delivery Company.

He enjoyed sports of all kinds, including Golf, Tennis and Bowling and loved working in Amateur Theater (S.T.A.G.E.) in Bulverde, TX., for over 28 years as an Actor, Asst. Director, Scene Helper and a member of the Board of Directors.

Lou's ashes will be laid to rest in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, where he will join his parents and grandparents.
