Obituary

Louise Barclay Jimenez, born in San Antonio, Texas, September 19, 1955, went to be with the Lord on September 14, 2017 at the age of 61.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rudy A. Jimenez Jr.; her father, Julius Barclay Chamberlain; and mother, Magdalene Anthony Flannery & William Waring Flannery. She is survived by her son, Julius Barclay Jimenez; granddaughter, Jazlynn Athena Jimenez; daughter, Andrea Anise Jimenez; granddaughter, Mariyah Altonette-Louise McClain; sisters, Frances Chamberlain, and Georgia Chamberlain & John Foulkrod; as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Louise graduated from Alamo Heights High School in 1974. Here, she met her future husband Rudy Jimenez who played football for the Mules and they would remain happily married from 1978 until Rudy's death in 2010.

As part of the 1977 San Antonio Fiesta Coronation and Battle of Flowers parade, Louise was the Duchess of Machu Picchu in the Order of the Alamo's Court of the Voyage Extraordinaire where she represented the Queen's Court and her family with grace and elegance.

Louise was loved and admired by all those that knew her and she could always be counted on for a warm smile and good sense of humor. She acquired an artistic passion to paint from her mother and although she loved to work with her arts and crafts, it was her passion for animals that she shared with Rudy that defined her desire to care and comfort animals. With a big heart for always helping those in need, she found her calling in working with various veterinarians and rescue shelters to care for animals. Throughout her life her home would ultimately become a sanctuary and shelter for dogs, cats, birds, monkeys, snakes, fish, and various mammals that she and Rudy would bring home and take in.

Louise will be missed dearly by all her family but her memory will live on in our hearts and minds forever. We will never forget her generous spirit and the goodness that she gave to us all. She is with Rudy now and her circle of life is now complete. May she rest in peace.
