LTC Robert G. Sikora, USA, Ret, surrounded by his loving family, passed away Tuesday, August 7, 2007, at the age of 58.

He was born April 27, 1949, in Hammond, IN, to Sylvester and Marie Sikora.

Robert was a resident of Fair Oaks Ranch, TX and member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Boerne, TX.

He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, Rho Chi, Phi Kappa Phi and the Order of Military Medical Merit Honor Societies. He was on the advisory councils for the pharmacy schools at Purdue University and at the University of Texas. He was also a member of the Presidents Council at Purdue University.

Robert was a 1967 graduate of Bishop Noll High School, Hammond, IN. He earned a B.S. in Pharmacy from Purdue University in 1972, and then went on to earn his Master's Degree from the University of Georgia in 1980.

During Robert's military career he received numerous awards including The Legion of Merit throughout his 21 years of dedicated service. He was listed in Who's Who in American Health Care from 1994 to 1998, received the Distinguished Alumnus Award from Purdue University's School of Pharmacy in 2003, and was inducted into the Purdue University ROTC Hall of Fame in 2006.

Robert retired from Pfizer, Inc. as Vice President of the Clinical Education Consultant Division in April 2005.

He was preceded in death by his father, Sylvester.

Robert is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Nancy; sons, Robert A., Daniel J. and wife, Christi; mother, Marie Sikora; sisters, Sue Cooper and husband, Dion, Jackie Shinault and husband, Don, Margaret Sikora-Black and husband, Don; brothers, Nick Sikora and wife, Shelly, Scott Cunningham and wife, Sheri Kessler; father-in-law, Harold Highsmith; and many other relatives and friends.

The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations are sent to the Purdue Foundation where a scholarship will be set up in Bob's name. Checks should to be made out to "Purdue Foundation", with "in memory of Bob Sikora" written in the memo field.
