Obituary

Mary Catherine (Cathy) Warder, age 87, of San Antonio passed away on Monday, December 18, 2017.
She was born on July 14, 1930 in Bovina, Texas to Robert and Tency Eastwood.

Cathy grew up in rural communities in Texas and Oklahoma before meeting the love of her life, Jesse (Jess) Warder in "Little" Kansas, Oklahoma at age 19. They were soon married and began a journey that would take them from Oklahoma, to Texas, Japan, and Hawaii as Jess pursued his USAF career. After finally settling in San Antonio, Cathy's entrepreneurial spirit led her to careers as owner of a thriving hair salon and later as one of San Antonio's top producing real estate agents. But, the priorities of her life were always her faith and her family. She was full of fun and energy, and played a mean game of cards or dominoes. "Ga" (as her grandchildren called her) loved a good cup of weak coffee, sunny days in her garden, and picking peaches in Fredericksburg. Her most treasured moments were spent cooking for her family and enjoying family traditions and celebrations. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was also a faithful and dedicated servant to her Lord and her church family. Her entire family joins in echoing the words of Proverbs 31:29: "Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all".

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Pete and John Eastwood, and sisters Faye Horne and Joy Gregg. Cathy is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Jesse Wayne Warder; children, Jesse and Susan Warder, Deborah and Clark Tilley; grandchildren; Chris and Andrea Tilley, Emily (Warder) and Jason Belden, Casey and Amanda Tilley, Jesse W. Warder III (Trey) and Candace, Cara (Tilley) and Michael Prince; great-grandchildren Jaxon Tilley, Collin Tilley, Finley Warder, Walker Belden, Peyton Tilley, Dylan Tilley, Weston Belden, Rhys Warder, Ellis Belden, and Reagan Tilley. She is also survived by beloved brother, David Eastwood and by numerous nieces and nephews that held a special place in her heart.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, December 22, 2017 at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
