Obituary

Mary Elaine Lico Ryan passed on to her heavenly home on Sunday, April 15, 2018, at the age of 71. She was surrounded by her family at home in Helotes, Texas.

Elaine was born on October 17, 1946 in San Antonio, Texas to Paul and Zora Faye Lico. She graduated form Douglas MacArthur High School in 1965. Elaine had a long career with Broadway National Bank retiring in 2010 after 42 years of serving in various positions; her last and most enjoyed position was as the Vice President, Business Development Manager. Always looking to expand business relationships for the bank, Elaine loved calling on small business in the hill country and sharing with them the Broadway story. She gained much job satisfaction from mentoring her staff, encouraging their growth in their management skills, and loved watching them become well rounded bankers.

Elaine and husband Ken are members of Western Heritage Cowboy Church in Pipe Creek, Texas. They both loved the gospel band led by Penni Ka Hargrove Cox and enjoyed the worship services under the leadership of Cowboy preacher, Cliff Hargrove. The fellowship of the Cowboy congregation was a time that Elaine looked forward to each week while enjoying breakfast with other members of the church. She was extremely thankful for the prayers of Pastor Cliff; his sweet wife, Kita Hargrove; his daughter and son-in-law, Penni Ka, music leader and Brad Cox, assistant pastor for Cowboy Church. Also, all of the faithful church members who were diligent in their prayers for Elaine in her time of need. She was also very thankful for the prayers and support of the neighborhood church led by Bob and Patti Grigg. These servants of God were always faithful in their prayers and support of Elaine.

Elaine married the love of her life, Kenneth Bruce Ryan Sr, on July 25, 1968. Preceding her in death were grandparents Arthur and Molly Hollon, and parents Paul and Zora Faye Lico. In addition were beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins, a brother and a sister in Italy, Giovanni Lico and Gina Lico. Surviving are her husband, Kenneth Bruce Ryan, Sr; her son, Ken Ryan, II and daughter-in-law, Yvette Ryan; grandsons, Dustin Paul Ryan and Jordan Smith (and wife Brandi and great-grandson Jonathan); granddaughters, Brittany Smith and Bayli Smith; brother, Paul Stanley Lico; nephews, James Lico (and wife, Kristen) and children, Ethan and Shelby; John Paul Lico (and wife, Kathryn) and children, Makala, Connor, and Oliver; and several beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins; and family in Italy.
