Obituary

Mary Jane Elaine Kozuba Lynch was called to eternal rest on December 26, 2018. Born on November 16, 1935 in Philadelphia, PA, Mary Jane attended Sacred Heart School and graduated from John W. Hallahan Catholic Girls School. She then received her Registered Nursing degree from Misericordia Hospital School of Nursing and her Bachelor of Science in Education from Temple University. Mary Jane went on to earn her Master's in Public Health from Loma Linda Hospital School in California.

On September 2, 1967, she married Dr. Richard Lynch. Dr. Lynch retired from the military as a Brigadier General at which time his wife Mary Jane's service was also honored with a second star. Throughout their long lives together, Mary Jane and Richard traveled extensively, visiting over 110 countries on 6 continents. This dedication to life is documented by a photo collection and archive that her family will always treasure.

Always active, Mary Jane was the President of the Officers' Wives' Club both home and abroad. She proudly held the position of President of the Republican Wives' Club in Palm Desert. During her 23 years in California, Mary Jane served as a board member on the Chamber Opera Society. Upon relocation to San Antonio, her playful spirit lead her to join the local Red Hat Society where she continued her love of travel and friendly companionship with other women in chapters across the country.

She is survived by her loving husband, Dr. Richard Lynch; her son, Adam Lynch and wife Vayia, son Karl Lynch and wife Catherine, granddaughter Mia, and grandsons Nathan, Aidan, and Evan. Mary Jane was preceded in death by her father, Vincent Kozuba, mother, Mary Kozuba, and her brother, Edwin Kozuba.

Mary Jane was cared for lovingly at home since 2012 by her husband and a group of wonderful caregivers. We would like to thank all her caregivers for their loving support: Reveca Flores, Doris Hall, Felma Gallagher, Cherie Wisniewski and Christine Kukas.
