Obituary

Manuel Peña, Jr., 47, passed away on Monday, September 17, 2018 in Goodyear, Arizona. He was born on May 2, 1971 in McAllen, Texas to parents, Manuel Peña, Sr. and Ofelia Granados Peña.
Manuel devoted his life to his entire family, especially his children. He worked hard to provide the life for them that he knew they deserved. Manuel spent his 17-year career as a truck driver, spending 10 of those years as a loyal driver for SPFM. He worked long hours across long distances to ensure that his family was taken care of.
Manuel had a green thumb, and loved to plant trees, and various flowers. He knew, very well, how to care for his home, handling maintenance and repairs himself instead of hiring others. He truly was a jack of all trades, even being proficient with technology and computers. He could take electronics apart completely and rebuild them on his own. Always seeing the value in everything, he would never throw anything "broken" away, because he knew he could manage to make it work again.
He taught his sons everything he knew, from carpentry and handiwork, to computers and cars. Manuel instilled in his sons the importance of putting all of yourself into everything you begin, and completing the tasks with honesty and integrity. He was the true epitome of what it means to be a great father. Manuel was the glue that held not only his immediate family together, but all of his extended family as well. He knew the importance of family, and always made sure to put others before himself.
Manuel was the face behind the camera, always there to capture memories that will carry on long after the moment faded. He didn't care for the spotlight; just knowing that he was bringing happiness and comfort into the lives of his family was well worth the sacrifice. He gave everything for his family, even himself.

Manuel will be deeply missed by all he knew, and will be fondly remembered as a loving and supportive husband, amazing father, devoted son, loyal brother and fun tío.

He was preceded in death by his father, Manuel Peña, Sr. Manuel is survived by loving wife of 24 years, Tracy Ridens Peña; sons, Nathan and wife Vianey, Kurt, and Ethan; mother, Ofelia Peña; siblings, Maria Lourdes Prado, Leticia Samudio and husband Leo, Maryann Garcia and husband Miguel, Carolina Peña and husband Darren, Patricia Peña, and Everardo Peña; numerous nieces and nephews; many great-nieces and great-nephews; as well as other extended family members.
