Obituary

Michael Jensen passed away unexpectedly after a short illness from this life on Earth into God's embrace on February 22, 2019. Although he was only 58, he lived life more abundantly than most. Mike was a loving, caring, thoughtful, and compassionate gentleman who cherished his family and friends.

Mike was born in San Antonio, Texas, to Donald Jensen and Bernice Kruciak Jensen on June 9, 1960. After graduating from Robert E. Lee High School in 1978, Mike earned his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from The University of Texas at San Antonio in 1982.

Mike met the love of his life, Jane Morrison, while still in high school. As high school sweethearts, Jane cheered Mike on as he played basketball and baseball. After dating through high school and college, they married in 1984 and have enjoyed 34 years of love and bliss.

Mike was the best dad. He was always nurturing and loving to his daughters, Courtney and Allie, offering advice and guidance constantly as it was often requested. His girls were the light of his life, and he did what he could to ensure their happiness.

Mike lived life large! He enjoyed cruises to destinations such as the Caribbean, Alaska, and Hawaii, as well as gambling in Las Vegas and family time in Port Aransas at the beach. He also enjoyed travel adventures to locations all across America. Mike spent a lot of time in Austin at University of Texas football games as well as at least one away game each season.

Mike was one of the most passionate Longhorn fans you could ever meet! He loved and supported the Longhorns no matter the sport. He attended most home football games, and several basketball and baseball games as well. Additionally, Mike enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing golf. Last summer Mike got to play golf at the TPC Sawgrass in Jacksonville, Florida, where he put his tee shot 6 feet from the pin on the famous 17th island green. This was definitely a golfing career highlight!

Mike was very kind and generous, always willing to lend a hand when anyone needed help.
In 1996, he received the National Volunteer of the Year Award for Leadership Excellence and
Volunteerism in Public Television. He always made everyone feel welcome in his home, at church, or at work. He was very compassionate and even led a neighborhood Rosary Group.

Mike loved the Lord, and he loved his family. He always lived life to the fullest and had a wonderful time entertaining family and friends with his great sense of humor.

During his career, Mike worked at several different companies. Most recently, he was employed by iHeart Media as a Business Analyst and enjoyed the people he worked with very much.

Mike lived his life by love. "And now these three remain, faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love."- 1 Corinthians 13:13

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Bernice Jensen of San Antonio and his father-in-law Billy Morrison.

He is survived by his loving wife Jane Jensen; daughters, Courtney Jensen and fiancé Eric Nelson of Dallas, Allison Jensen of Fort Worth; sisters, Debbie Weber and husband Chuck of Boerne, Terri Armstrong and husband Keith of San Antonio; mother-in-law Carolyn Morrison of San Antonio; brother-in- law Marshall Morrison and wife Diane of Azle; nieces and nephews, Jason Pyka and wife Elaina and their children Brady and Madelynn of Wylie, Pam Moseley and husband Alex and children Darian, Monica, and Isaiah of San Antonio, Brandon Armstrong of San Antonio, Barret Morrison and wife Lane of Weatherford, Victoria Morrison of Azle; and many relatives, friends, and Macy, the beloved family dog.
