Obituary

Michelle René Coats passed away at the age of 51, May 17, 2020 at Northeast Methodist Hospital in Live Oak, TX. She was born June 21, 1968 in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Nancy (Speed) Allen and Ronald Nead, second daughter of six. At about 10 years of age Michelle took private clarinet lessons from a young college student who played in the Fremont Symphony Orchestra. Michelle had a talent for the instrument and while still an elementary student, earned a chair in the Junior High band. Michelle enjoyed beach activities with her sisters and friends and played High School volleyball. Michelle graduated from Irvington High School, class of 1986. Because she mastered typing, she worked for the Fremont Unified School District while still in High School. Michelle was interested in a business career. She worked for a San Jose Attorney, Dee Howard Company (Aviation), CIGNA Insurance Company, Koontz McCombs Construction, and most recently, as an Executive Assistant for River City Federal Credit Union. Michelle was a wonderful mother and master organizer who loved to cook and travel with her husband, Jeff. She married Jeff Coats of Temple, Texas on April 19, 2003, settling in San Antonio, Texas. Michelle and Jeff raised three boys and were preparing for an imminent retirement of travel and family. "Everyone Loved Michelle." Michelle is survived by her husband, Jeff, of 17 years, her step-sons Calvin (Yesica and Grandchildren: Lillian and Cooper who adored her); Kalon; Jordan; her mother Nancy Allen of Gardnerville, Nevada; her father Ronald Nead (Jean) of Meridian, Idaho; her sisters Natalie Beal (David) of Washington, DC; Darcy Hergert (Tyrell) of San Antonio, Texas; Janae Ballingham (Zackery) of Gardnerville, Nevada; Julie Tucker (Jason) of Grenoble, France; Tami Collins (Charles) of Grimesland, North Carolina; her Uncles, Aunts, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
