Miguel Fernandez Guerra, 88, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend to all, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 in San Antonio, Texas. "Mike" was a God-Fearing Man who relied on the Lord for his every step, Dreamed Big and was the ultimate gentleman who faithfully passed on his values to his family. All his goals and dreams came into fruition. He was born and raised in San Antonio Texas.

He smiled through adversity, led by example, loved unconditionally, wasn't defined by his material positions on earth but by the legacy of love he left behind; his family was always first, second and third.

He was a Korean war veteran, St. Mary's University Graduate, accomplished actor and model, Dean of Men, and Foreign Student Affairs at Our Lady of the Lake University and served as member of the Texas School Board of Education. After "retiring" he Served the Lord at Cornerstone Church in the Choir, as an Usher, led a Bible Study Home Ministry, participated in the Prayer line, and worked at Cornerstone Christian Schools as a Substitute Teacher.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Maria Alicia Fernandez Bonfiglio; parents, Mike and Cecilia Fernandez; brothers, Robert and Raul Fernandez; and sister, Mary Alice Villarreal.

Miguel is survived by his children, Martha Cecilia Kattan, Elizabeth (Pete) Martinez, Oscar (Patricia) Fernandez, and Mary Alice Summers; grandchildren: Yousef (Arley) Kattan, Vianey Kattan, Nadia Kattan, Jackie Fernandez, Oscar Fernandez, Michael (Janna) Summers, Sebastian Summers, Josue Summers, Alexis Summers; great-grandchildren: Natalia Kattan, Mateo Kattan, and Camila Kattan and sister, Angelina Fernandez EscareƱo and brother, Ralph Fernandez.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at Cornerstone Church Vada Hagee Chapel.
