Obituary

Miriam Dianne Haas earned her wings on Tuesday the 16th of May, 2017 in New Braunfels, Texas.
Dianne was born in 1936 in the Bronx, New York. Dianne received a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice and Social Work from Rutgers University, in New Jersey. She continued her education at Our Lady of the Lake in San Antonio, Texas and received a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology and Social Work.
Dianne worked in Rahway State Prison and Trenton State Prison in the work release program in the early 70s. She was a pioneer in her career, being one of the first women to work as a prison social worker at the time. From there she worked for Adult Protective Services, MHMR, and towards the end of her career she did personal counseling in New Braunfels.
Dianne never met a stranger. She loved to have conversations with people from all walks of life, and truly adored anyone who crossed her path. She would often say at the end of a conversation to a new friend, "well, have a nice life!" her warmth, kindness and humor was loved by many.
She is survived by her four children and their spouses, Caryne and D. Lee Edwards, Debra and Elliott Saltz, Richard Haas, Robert Haas; grandchildren: Aja Edwards, Adrianna Edwards, Michael Mongiello, Sarah Bernstein, V. Hope Davis, Shayleen Sosa; and great grandchildren: Isaiah, Zabrina and Alyssa.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, May 19th from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at 311 Hunters Creek Dr. in New Braunfels.
