Obituary

Oliver Overton Kee, better known as "PeeWee", peacefully passed away at the age of 92, in San Antonio, Texas. He was born to parents, Robert Francis Kee and Gracie Durisoe Kee in Troop Cherokee County, Texas. When Oliver was a little boy, marbles were a popular game. There was a small marble called "PeeWee." He earned his nickname through his collection of "peewees" he won through his marble playing skills. Whenever you saw him, he always had a pocket full of peewee marbles, hence the nickname PeeWee.

In 1942, at just the age of 17, Oliver joined the Marine Corp and served almost 3yrs in the South Pacific during WWII. In 1954, he met and married the love of his life, Pauline Harris, where they shared 63 blissful years of marriage together, and began to raise a family. Oliver had many interests including his love for hunting and fishing. He looked forward to visiting Colorado during the prime hunting season and fishing at the coast. Oliver was a member of the Alamo Masonic Lodge #44, for over 50 years.

A faithful servant unto his Lord Savior, he devoted much of his time to his church family, where he served as a Deacon and Property Chairman, and various other positions with Central Christian Church. After serving 25 years in the Texas National Guard, he retired in 1985 as a Mgst (E8), and also retired from the City Public Service after 30 years of dedicated work.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his son Patrick Wayne Kee, and grandson, Michael Wayne Bowen, sisters: Molly Kubasak and Margaret Hicks; brothers: Tommy, Robert, Victor, and Charles Kee; brothers-in-law: Harry Goodall, James Mason, and Karl Hicks; sisters-in-law: Iva Kee and Norma Kee.

He leaves his beloved wife, Pauline Kee; four daughters, Gwenda Raabe (James), Sue Bowen, Penny Hafner (Michael) and Joy Lynn Rush; daughter-in-law, Amanda Kee; sisters: Francis Goodall and Ann Mason; sister-in-law: Helen Kee; grandchildren, Alexander, Stephanie, Cristal (Robert), Brittany (Anthony), Courtney, Jennifer, Skye, Draven and Zevin; great-grandchildren, Adeline, Alizay, Aiden, Kaitlyn, Cash, and Penny; and a host of nieces and nephews whom all loved him dearly.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 3, 2017 from 5:00PM to 7:00PM, at Porter Loring McCullough.
