Obituary

Beloved father, husband, grandfather and friend, Oscar Gonzales San Miguel, age 70, passed away on Saturday, May 26, 2018 with his family at his side. He was born in San Antonio to wonderful parents, Fred and Maria San Miguel. At the young age of 18, he proudly enlisted in the US Air Force, served during Vietnam War and after four years was honorably discharged.

Oscar met his wife, Elva on a blind date and taught each other their respective languages, English/Spanish and have treasured 46 years of marriage being blessed with three fantastic children. As a basis for a secure future for his family, he enrolled at SACC earning his Associate degree in Accounting/Computer Technology. He was an exceptional man with a strong work ethic. For several years, he was a devoted and loyal employee at City Public Service (CPS) as an Administrator/Computer Programmer retiring in 2010.

He had a passion for the game of pool and was member of the American Pool Players Association (APA). He took pleasure in traveling to Las Vegas in pursuing the skill of the game. He loved outings with his family on fishing trips and target shooting at the gun range.

He is preceded in death by his father, Fred B. San Miguel and is survived by his mother, Maria A. Cortez; his beloved wife, Elva San Miguel; their children: Anna Mirian San Miguel (Thomas); Oscar San Miguel Jr., and David San Miguel; cherished grandchildren: Lisa Zavala, Sarai Buentello and Elizabeth Buentello; great-grandchildren: Analisa Flores and Abigail Flores along with many other wonderful family members and numerous friends.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, June 5th from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM in the chapel at Porter Loring on McCullough.
