Obituary

After a defiant battle with Parkinson's/Alzheimer complications Oscar Villarreal, age 84, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 20, 2018. Born and raised in Falfurrias, TX, he proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force.

A prominent day in his life was when he earned his Bachelor degree from Southwest Texas State University. After his extended civil service career at Kelly A.F.B., he greatly enjoyed conducting the train at Fiesta Texas. He had a knack for great BBQ and could be counted on to take his regular jog/walk around the neighborhood, watch classic westerns, and have that one can of Coke each day.

Over the last 20 years "Grandpa" established himself as the ever-present guardian and #1 Fan of his grandsons at St. Luke school pick up, sports events, music lessons, church productions and the annual nighttime crab hunting at the beach in Corpus Christi.

Oscar is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Theresa Villarreal; daughter, Norma Ann Villarreal Brooks and son Miguel David Villarreal (Amy Sue); his cherished grandsons Dalton and Cody Brooks; brother Ysidro Villarreal (Sarah); niece Annemarie Villarreal Allison (Bryan) and numerous other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his siblings Norma, Noela and Noel.

On Thursday, February 8th at 6:00 PM, recitation of the rosary will be held in the Chapel at Porter Loring on McCullough.

On Friday, February 9th, Mass will begin at 12:30 PM at St. Paul's Catholic Church, 350 Sutton Drive interment to follow in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
