Among his philanthropic activities, Paul loved and volunteered many years with the Texas Cavaliers and served as Commander in 1978 and then reigned as King Antonio LVII in 1979. Paul also was a Past President of the San Antonio German Club and member of the Order of the Alamo. He was a Life Member of the Texas Wildlife Association and enjoyed working on projects for wildlife habitat conservation on his ranch.
