Obituary

Richard Eugene Bryson (also known as Dick or Dickie), son of the late Roy and Marie (Shepherd) Bryson passed away peacefully on October 6, 2018. Born in Villisca, IA, educated at a rural school in Montgomery County IA and Villisca High School, graduating in 1945.
He enlisted in the US Navy at age 17, and then, when his term ended, enlisted in the US Army. He was a veteran of WWII. After his Army term, he attended Northwest Missouri State College, graduating in 1952 with a BS in Secondary Education (math and science).
He married Jessie Leanna Weddle in May 1952 and they both taught in Iowa schools. In 1955 he received his master's degree in math and counseling. The couple lived in Clinton, Iowa where he taught high school math for 22 years, while raising his family.
In 1982 the couple moved to Neosho, Missouri to care for Jessie's aging father. After living in Neosho for 23 years, they moved to Tulsa Oklahoma (2005) to be near their son Bruce. More recently, they moved to San Antonio Texas to be close to their daughter Abby.
Where ever Richard and Jessie have lived, they have joined with a local church and served in many capacities. Richard has loved the Lord and worshiped and served faithfully.
Richard is survived by his wife of 66 years, Jessie (Weddle) Bryson, daughter, Abby and husband Bruce, daughter-in-law Pat Kroblin, and grandchildren: Cody and Dugan Jones, and Sarah Bryson, sister-in-law Francais Weddle, and brother-in-law Robin Weddle.
He is preceded in death by his son, Bruce Allen Bryson, and his sisters Mildred McClelland. and Maxine Louis.
