Obituary

Beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather and great grandfather, Richard R. Farias, age 77, passed away on, August 15, 2018. He was born in San Antonio, TX on September 4, 1940 to Luciano and Maria Farias. In 1960 he graduated from Harlandale High School and fell in love with Yolanda Gallardo's smile and on August 19, 1960, married the love of his life and shared 57 years of marriage before his passing. He was a great provider who passed his belief in God, strong work ethic, focus of continuous improvement, and caring for those in need to his family and friends. He loved fishing, beach vacations, car trips throughout the country, family backyard barbecues, listening to music from conjunto to Fats Domino and Little Richard, playing the accordion and piano. He took great pride in maintaining a meticulous yard, decorating for every holiday, and encouraging his children to "work smarter, not harder" and to "be adventurous, but safe." He enjoyed a career with Borden Dairy for 37 years, beginning in home delivery and working his way up to a supervisory position until his retirement.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Ray, Frank and Ernest, his sister Margie Casillas, his in-law Jesse and Concha Gallardo, his daughter Sandra Panek, his son Richard "Rick" Jr., and his beloved dog Bouncer. He is survived by his loving wife Yolanda Farias, his daughters Patricia (Richard) Alcoser and Rhonda Farias, and son Roland (Brenda) Farias, along with numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
