Obituary

TSgt Ronald (Ron) L. Adams, age 80, died May 1, 2017. He was preceded in death by his cherished wife of 35 years, Cheryl Muzzi Adams; as well as his parents, Lillian Rhine Adams and Victor Adams; his brother Richard Adams; and two sisters, Betty Watts and Fay Stahl. He is survived by his sister, Doris Detwiler and his five children: Kelly Adams McCabe, Joseph Adams, Christi Neel, Mikaila Adams, and Lisa Adams Dargel. He also leaves behind six grandchildren and other beloved friends and family.

Raised in Pennsylvania, Adams enlisted in the US Air Force in 1954 and served as Air Force Special Operations, Pararescue (PJ). A veteran of the Vietnam War, he served two tours and earned commendations for his dedication and bravery, including multiple awards of the Purple Heart and the Air Medal. Prior to retirement from military service, Adams received a master's degree in political science from Syracuse University. After traveling the world, Adams settled in San Antonio, Texas, where he raised his family, cheered for the Spurs, and served as a career bookkeeper until his retirement.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 9 from 6:00-7:00 p.m. at Porter Loring Mortuary North, San Antonio. He will be interred at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery on Wednesday, May 10, at 11:00 a.m.
