Mrs. Rosemary Ormand Weber passed May 13, 2017. She was 84 years old. Born October 12, 1932 in Gastonia, North Carolina, Mrs. Weber graduated from Gastonia High School. She then attended the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill and graduated with a B.S. in psychology. She continued her education at the School of Social Work of the University of North Carolina, graduating with a degree in Social Psychology.

She began her practice of psychotherapy in Lakenheath, England when her husband, Dr. Carl Weber, was transferred to Lakenheath Air Force Base. She entered private practice in San Antonio when Dr. Weber was transferred to Wilford Hall Medical Center. Mrs. Weber retired from the private practice of psychotherapy in 1983.

In 1951 she married Dr. Carl H. Weber of Gastonia, North Carolina. They had three sons she dearly loved, Chuck, Ben, and Buck. She and Dr. Weber enjoyed 48 wonderful years together until he died of cancer in 1999.

Mrs. Weber had a long and distinguished record of community service. She served as President of the Bexar County Medical Auxiliary in 1984-85. She was a founding member of the Assistance Guild and Any Baby Can, and an active member of the Symphony League. Rosemary greatly enjoyed reading, needlepoint, traveling, time spent at her condo on the Texas Coast, and spending time with her family. She enjoyed partying with her friends – especially her dearest friends in the Birthday Club. She will be remembered for her many Academy Award parties and for chairing two Southern Medical Conventions in San Antonio.

Preceding her in death were her mother and father, Macie and James Ormand; and her husband, Dr. Carl Weber. Surviving members of her family are Dr. Carl H. Weber III of Austin and his wife, Susan; Ben Weber and his wife, Eileen; Buck Weber and his wife, Tracy; grandchildren, Dr. Ryan Weber of Austin and his wife Harmoni; Rebecca Weber of Austin; Jennifer Weber Boerner and her husband, Dr. Ryan Boerner of Austin; Nicole Weber, Travis Weber; and her brother James Ormand, Jr. of Honolulu, Hawaii.

The family will receive friends from 5:30-7:30 P.M. on Wednesday, May 17 at Porter Loring Mortuary North. Mrs. Weber will be buried with her husband in a private family ceremony at Fort Sam Houston Nation National Cemetery.
