CMSGT (Ret) Roy Cullum Coleman, age 88, passed away on Thursday, April 19, 2018 at his home in San Antonio, TX. He was born on August 2, 1929, in Nashville, TN to James E. and Mildred Burnett Coleman. He enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1946, where he served with distinction for 29 years. He was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Joan E. Coleman, his parents James E. and Mildred Coleman, brothers Kenneth Coleman, James Coleman, and sister Lois Coleman Golba. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Vicki Jo and John P. Harrison, son and daughter-in-law, Alan R. Coleman and Pamela Waters Coleman, sister-in-law, Aprile Puckett Coleman and Geraldine Coleman, niece, Angela Demers and husband Mark Demers, niece Dawn Turney and husband Jeff Turney, nephew Mark Coleman and wife Shelly Coleman and several great nieces and nephews.

Roy enlisted in the United States Air Force at 17 and spent most of his Air Force career stationed overseas including the United Kingdom, Okinawa, and The Philippines during and at the end the Vietnam War. He was a member of the USAF Security Service. He was honored throughout his career, the highest honor being a finalist for Chief Master Sargent of the Air Force. After he retired from the service, he went on to receive associates degrees in accounting and plumbing.

He was active for many years, along with his wife, Joan, in The International Cat Association. He and his wife bred British Shorthairs, Tonkinese and Abyssinian cats, along the way producing many regional and international winners. He was an active member of Mission City Cat Club for many years serving as treasurer and entry clerk.

In his later years, he enjoyed spending time listening to audio books, keeping up with world events, baseball, NASCAR and spending time with his beloved Abyssinian, Hawkeye. Saturday night wasn't complete unless there was an episode of Lawrence Welk being watched.

Roy leaves behind numerous friends and family that will miss him and his sense of humor very much.
