Roy J. Bunch was born on June 12th 1921 in Richmond Missouri to George Roy Bunch and Edith May Rogers. Roy was raised by his mother Edith and step-father Ray Harrison whom he considered to be his dad. Both preceded him in death as did his older brother Jack Wilbur Bunch. Roy went to join his beloved wife Isabelle on January 10th, 2018.
Roy was educated in the Camden Missouri school district for 10 years before finishing his final two years at Richmond High School in Richmond, Missouri. He lettered in basketball at both schools and also in football at Richmond. Roy's wife, Isabelle Ann Jones, preceded him in death on March 21st, 2008. They had three children; Jackie, Phil, and Chris who with their spouses and children survive him.
Roy served in the United States Army and Air force for 22 years. After retiring from the military, he went on to have an 11-year career at Security Service Federal Credit Union and another 11 years with the Alamo Community College, retiring for the last time in August 1986.
Roy and Isabelle loved to travel with Las Vegas being their favorite destination. Roy was very active in his Masonic Lodge (Perfect Union Lodge #10) serving as master in 1996. He faithfully supported his church, St. John United Methodist Church where he served in many capacities. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, lodge brothers, and fellow church members. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m., Thursday, February 1, 2018 at Porter Loring Mortuary.
