Obituary

Ruby Milton, age 88, passed away on Friday, May 15, 2020 in San Antonio, Texas. She was one of eight children born to John Frank and Crettie Norris of Burkesville, Kentucky (Dutch Creek), She was a devoted army wife to her husband, Sergeant Major Richard Charles Milton Jr until his demise in 2001. Ruby had amazing and endearing friends from church, bunco and bridge club that have provided unwavering support through many years and a great source of comfort for her family. She will always be remembered for her witty humor and her fierce independence.

Ruby is survived by her daughter, Jacki Zivley; son in law, John Zivley; grandchildren, Renee Baranauskas and Drew Baranauskas; great grandchildren, Jaelin Carmicle and Sophia Baranauskas and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her wonderful circle of friends, she would like to give special thanks to General James Peak, MD and his wife Janice.

Ruby died peacefully as an angel in hospice care. She will be buried at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with her loving husband. Due to the pandemic, a graveside service is not an available option. Pastor Wayne Garcia was a powerful source of grace and comfort for Ruby and her family and will take the lead for a celebration of her life in the fall.

The family would like to thank Beacon Hospice as well as her personal physician of many years, Dr Thang N. Pham.
